PSM News - March 2021
Message from NPSMA President Gerald Grunwald
As the National Professional Science Masters Association begins our 2021 program year, on behalf of our Board of Directors I want to extend our best wishes for 2021 to all members of the PSM community. During the past year, all of us have been witness to and deeply touched both personally and professionally by the health and financial impact of the COVID pandemic, as well as by the ongoing societal need of achieving inclusive excellence and engaging in civil discourse as we seek solutions to the challenges we face together. As a key player in the continued development of our STEM workforce, PSM programs have and will continue to train the STEM leaders of tomorrow, who will rise to these challenges through our unique combination of technical and professional education and training that is a hallmark of NPSMA affiliated programs. The NPSMA will continue to support all members of our community through our many resources including our publications, website, and annual workshop and conference that you can learn more about below and in upcoming editions of PSM News. We look forward to sharing more details as the year unfolds and especially look forward to seeing you in person at our annual workshop and conference in November in Tampa Florida. Until then we wish you all the best as we traverse our spring semesters, and as always, please feel free to contact me directly if we can ever be of any assistance to you and your PSM programs.
With warm regards,
Jerry

NPSMA 2021 Annual Conference and Workshop:
Save the dates for the event in Tampa, Florida
We all plan to meet in Tampa Florida on November 10-12 2021 for the NSPMA’s Annual Pre-Conference Workshop on "Individual Development Plans” for MS stem programs, followed by our Conference on “Developing a Roadmap for your PSM Program." Information can be found on the NPSMA National Conference site and additional details regarding the conference program will be forthcoming. We are planning an in-person conference and will certainly pivot if necessary should health and safety concerns warrant a virtual meeting. The conference planning committee would like to welcome your presentation proposals and ideas for sponsorship. Send proposals and ideas to Amber Bloechle, NPSMA Conference Planning Committee Chair.
We are excited to announce that The NPSMA and CGS have been awarded a collaborative NSF grant to sponsor a survey and workshop around the theme of “STEM M.S. Individual Development Plans as Essential Tools in Workforce Development”. We invite directors from all STEM M.S. programs to participate in this exciting project.
