Environmental Science

Today’s environmental challenges are increasingly interdisciplinary in nature and require professionals who have a strong foundation in science, are able to think across boundaries, and effectively communicate with all stakeholders. The Environmental Science Track focuses on the analytical aspects at the forefront of today’s environmental fields.

As an interdisciplinary program, the Environmental Science Track is supported by faculty from the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the College of Mines and Earth Sciences, and the College of Science. There are five focus areas within the Track:

  • Environmental Chemistry/Biology
  • Environmental Hydrology
  • Public and Environmental Health
  • Remote Sensing and GIS
  • Sustainability

Graduate Students in the Environmental Science Track take advanced science courses within these five focus areas and choose electives based on their professional goals.
