Outcomes for PSM Alumni

Outcomes for PSM Alumni: 2015/16 (2017 Report including 2014/15 and 2015/16 Alumni)

The Commission on Affiliation of PSM Programs has conducted the Outcomes for PSM Alumni survey since 2010. In the summer of 2016, the office sent out invitations to PSM affiliated institutions to participate in a PSM student outcomes survey. The survey included a new question: how their base annual salary changed from their principal job when they began their PSM programs to after completing their degree. The results demonstrated that their base annual salary increased over time upon completion of their PSM programs within the 5-year or less period of graduation of a minimum of 4% upwards of 16%.

Outcomes for PSM Alumni: 2013/14 (2014 Report)

The 2014 Professional Science Master’s (PSM) Student Outcomes Survey  is the fourth annual Professional Science Master’s student outcomes survey. This is the first year that the PSM National Office at Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) began conducting evaluations as the student and institution/program levels. This document contains a detailed report about this survey, complementing the CGS surveys performed in the previous years. The assessment was targeted to PSM graduates during the past 3 academic years (2011-2012, 2012-2013, and 2013-2014).The summarized data included their STEM disciplines, prior PSM program experiences/statuses, post degree-attainment experiences/statuses, and PSM programs experiences and post-PSM degree outcomes.  We appreciate each of the participants' of the survey and institutions who distributed the survey. Their time and effort contributes to and is revealed throughout this evaluation.

Outcomes for PSM Alumni: 2012/13 (2013 Report)

The 2013 Professional Science Master’s (PSM) Student Outcomes Survey  is the third annual Professional Science Master’s student outcomes survey conducted by the Council of Graduate Schools. The results are based on data generated by the 2013 Professional Science Master’s (PSM) Student Outcomes Survey, which was made possible by a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The survey asked graduates who earned a PSM degree during either the 2011/12 or 2012/13 academic years to share their motivations for enrolling in the program, satisfaction  with the program, and post-graduation status, including employment.

Outcomes for PSM Alumni: 2011/12 (2012 Report)

The 2012 Professional Science Master’s (PSM) Student Outcomes Survey is the second annual Professional Science Master’s student outcomes survey conducted by the Council of Graduate Schools. The results are based on data generated by the 2012 Professional Science Master’s (PSM) Student Outcomes Survey, which was made possible by a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The survey asked graduates who earned a PSM degree during either the 2010/11 or 2011/12 academic years to share their motivations for enrolling in the program, satisfaction with the program, and post-graduation status, including employment.

Outcomes for PSM Alumni: 2010/11 (2011 Report)

The 2011 Professional Science Master’s (PSM) Student Outcomes Survey was conducted by the Council of Graduate Schools with a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. The survey was designed to capture initial hiring outcomes of PSM graduates and follow them for up to five years after graduation. The design was based on a review of more than 40 outcomes-related data collection efforts from more than 30 governmental agencies, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions. A draft version of the questionnaire was reviewed by numerous individuals affiliated with the PSM initiative, including members of the Board of Directors of the National Professional Science Master’s Association (NPSMA) and members of the Council of Graduate Schools PSM Advisory Board.
